Confusion - Troy Michigan, January 2009

Always one of my favourite cons, if only because it gets me out of the house in January. I was on three great panels this year. Kelley Armstrong, Paul Melko, Catherine Shaffer, Sandee Rogriguez and I talked about Plot; another setting panel, with Karl Schroeder, Catherine Schaffer, Doselle Young and Jim Frenkel (the lone editor -- from Tor books -- among the writers); and, the ever-popular erotica panel, David Rozian, Kelley Armstrong, Anne Harris and Merrie Haskell. I don't know why I keep ending up on the erotica panel, but it's great fun. It's also the only one my husband took a picture of. No, I can't expain it.

Barnes and Noble - Troy, Michigan:
Friend and fellow-Daw author Jim C. Hines and I did a joint signing at the Barnes and Noble on Rochester Road while we attended Confusion in Troy, Michigan this January. We had a great turn out despite the snow and the Ice Festival which was going on elsewhere.

Jim and I give a short talk on how to get published.
