Ad Astra, 2009
It's too bad that I always get so busy at this time of year because
I'd really like to say great things about Ad Astra, one of my favourite
cons, while everything is fresh in my mind. Oh well. Always a great bunch
of people (though my friend Jim C. Hines couldn't make it this year, Fiona
Patton could) and a good location. For me one of the highlights was being
on not one, but two panels each with GOHs David Drake and Tamora Pierce.
So, no long discourse about the fun I had, but here are some pictures.
 |
| The Soldiers' Lifestyle Panel. From the left, Tamora Pierce, David
Drake, myself, Karin Lowachee and Fiona Patton. We talk about the
kinds of lives soldiers might have in different genres |
 |
| The Cribbing from History panel. From the left, Tony Pi, David Drake,
myself, Fiona Patton, and Rob St. Martin. We discuss how we crib from,
er, use our own world's rich history and culture when creating our
own worlds. |
 |
| The assigned room was still locked, so Fiona does her reading in
the stairwell. |
 |
| Not the best photo, but I really loved this panel and the people
on it. From the left, Tamora Pierce, myself, Fiona Patton, Adrienne
Kress, Lesley Livingston |
