St. Mark's Community of Friends (SMCF)
(Student and Young Adult Ministry)

This group is dedicated to providing an atmosphere of fellowship and a sense of belonging to students from St. Lawrence College, Queen's University and the Royal Military College who attend St. Mark's. As members of the congregation we assist with various parts of the service such as worship and communion assistants, and preparing coffee hour on some Sundays.

On the last Sunday of each month, at 11:30 am after the service, various families of St. Mark's provide homemade meals for the students. This is a wonderful opportunity to both eat a nutritious meal and share in fellowship with other students. The people of St. Mark's always provide a heartfelt welcome to college and university students. Come and join us!!!

Resolution Concerning Campus Ministry (31 May 1998)

Whereas St Mark's Lutheran Church wishes to expand its ministry generally, is situated in close proximity to the campus of Queen's University, St. Lawrence College and the Royal Military College, and students from these institutions attend St Mark's, and whereas campus ministry is vital to the future leadership of our church, the defense of the intellectual integrity of Christian faith, and the provision of an ethical and Christian atmosphere for our students, and whereas campus ministry belongs to our ecumenical outreach, and whereas it is crucial that the students be brought together and programs established for them.


BE IT RESOLVED


(a)     That the congregation of St Mark's Lutheran Church give wholehearted support to campus
        ministry:

(b)     That the congregation fund a Coordinator of Campus Ministry with the following job description:

1. Establishment of a mailing list of Lutheran students and others who worship at St Mark's:
2. Development of programs;
3. Outreach to the academic community;
4. Advertsing;
5. Maintenance of a web site;
6. Establishment of ecumenical links;
7. Organizing of worship for students, also in conjunction with other student groups
