St. Mark among the Youth

For many years St. Mark's has had a very active youth ministry. Although we are a small congregation, our youth group in recent years has been vibrant and active, a source of fun and companionship and a witness to the fact that serving the Lord is exciting. The Youth Group has traditionally participated enthusiastically in the annual Regional and National Lutheran Youth Gatherings.

At the 1992 National Youth Gathering of the ELCIC, "Labyrinth", which was held in Kingston, St. Mark's, the only Lutheran congregation within a radius of about 50 miles, provided a lot of leadership and people power for "local arrangements" as well as organization and leadership of some aspects of the conference itself.

The Director of the Planning Committee for the 1998 National Youth Gathering, "On This Rock", which was held in Halifax, was our own Vicky Huehn.
