Fused glass is an increadible process that fits well into my larger framework of laise faire creativity. The nice thing is that it's easy to learn and to produce satisfying results quickly. That said I've found my results dramatically improve with each firing and have found myself readily falling into a style unique from other works I've seen. As in other mediums I found myself replicating organic forms (flowers and trees primarily). While I do cut glass pieces specific to a purpose, the fun for me is using bits of scrap glass to create a design. I quickly fell into this method in my very first instruction class and found myself with some very satisfying results. I look forward to expanding my skills in this medium in the future. |
