Made in Japan in 1985, a rare "Contemporary" Telecaster. Guitar is Black with black hardware. Unusual model Telecaster as it came from the factory with twin humbuckers and a locking tremolo system. Also, to add to the unusual features of this particular guitar it also has a coil split switch which will allow you to change the humbuckers into single coils with the flip of a switch. This allows you to make the guitar sound more like a traditional Telecaster, rather then having the humbucking sound all the time.
I have had the guitar since I was 16, and thought that after 14 years with me, someone else should get to try this guitar for a while. I have always enjoyed playing it but it is time for me to move on.
The locking nut was removed before I got the guitar, I do not have it however I am sure that a suitable replacement can be ordered if you wish to return the guitar to original. Removal of the locking nut and stabilizing the tremolo were common upgrades made to this guitar shortly after its release, and both were done to this guitar before I got it.
The bridge has been laid completely flat to the guitar and I do not have the tremolo arm, also I do not have the 6 fine tuning screws that were in the bridge, but again I am sure that these would be very easy to source from a local music store.
This guitar comes with a black hard shell case, and an attached locking strap in black. I am also including a brand new set of D'Addario light strings which were just purchased but have not been put on the guitar at the moment.
The guitar has some wear from years of playing, and a few chips along the neck which you can see in the pictures. It has never been dropped and the neck is arrow straight.
Asking $350 or reasonable offer.
