Special Education prorams
Hello ! More than 188,000 Ontario students require special education programs in order that they can fully benefit from their formal education experience. Ontario spends $1.4 billion on Special Education... a 12% increase over last year and more money than ever before. That money, sent to Boards of Education, cannot be used for any other purpose. Since 1998, parents have had the legal right to attend and participate in the process that identifies their child as an "exceptional" pupil, whether it's a learning difficulty, a physical disability, a behaviour or emotional problem....... Each student then receives an Individual Education Plan that teachers can refer to for their special needs in daily lessons. Learning and growing to their potential is the goal for each and every student in this province. Special Education funding helps students and teachers do just that.... |
